Madagascar - Nosy Be

Nosy Be, that means "great island", it is also called "the island of the perfumes" for the intense aromas produced by cultivations of flowers used for the distillation of perfumed essences and from the vanilla that it grows abundant anywhere.
The island is one among the tourist places more attended of Madagascar; numerous they are the villages and comforting, but rather dear hotels, disseminated along the coasts.

The climate of Nosy Be is pleasant the whole year to exception of the summer period (December-February) very damp because of the continuous precipitations.
On the island there are different volcanic lakes surrounded by a luxuriant vegetation in which numerous crocodiles are hidden still.
Climbing on the tallest point of the island, the Passot mountain (315 mt), an exceptional panorama of the coast can be admired disseminated by bays and inlets. All around numerous islets destinations are found for splendid daily trips.

The island has covered from plantations of sugar reed, coffee, vanilla and other spices. Numerous they are the distilleries for the production of perfumed essences and rum. Unfortunately to magnify these cultivations departs some forests that entirely covered the island they have been destroyed.
The chief town is the town of Hell Ville where a lot of constructions remember the French colonization.
